Get To Know Me

Hello and welcome. I’m Deara (pronounced d-air-ruh), a licensed clinical social worker with over eight years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Springfield College and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Central Connecticut State University.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical and community-based settings, helping individuals navigate emotional, behavioral, family, and life stressors with compassion and practical support. My goal is to create a warm, relaxed, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe being fully themselves.

I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is finding the right therapeutic fit. Your comfort and trust matter deeply. If at any point you feel that I may not be the right therapist for you, I encourage open and honest communication without fear of judgment. Whether that means adjusting our approach, exploring different interventions, or finding another provider who better meets your needs, I fully support what feels best for you. Therapy is your space, your process, and your journey.

I work especially well with individuals and families who are ready to create meaningful change in their lives. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or uncertain about how to move forward. They value having a therapist who offers both empathy and authenticity — someone with whom they can speak openly without fear of being judged or misunderstood.

Together, we focus on building insight, developing healthy coping tools, strengthening communication and relationships, and creating realistic steps toward healing and growth. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals, empowering them to move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-understanding.

Just be yourself, and I’ll do the same!
